Muslim Education Quarterly


The 'Muslim Education Quarterly' is an academic refereed journal concerned with Muslim education in the modern world both in Muslim majority and Muslim minority countries. It is intended as a means of communication for scholars dedicated to the task of making education Islamic in character by substituting Islamic concepts for secularists concepts of knowledge at present prevalent in all branches of knowledge, by getting curricula and textbooks revised or rewritten accordingly and by proposing concrete strategies for revising teacher education including teaching methodology. Muslim Education Quarterly frequently publishes articles that deal with issues related to language education in the Muslim World.
American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences

AJISS is an academic refereed journal which is published four times a year (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) by the Association of Muslim Social Sciences (AMSS) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). AJISS strives to connect Muslim intellectuals and scholars all over the world to effect the development of a scholarly approach in the field of Islamic social sciences and human studies. The journal often touches on educational issues and approaches to academic research. It occassionally deals with language issues in the Muslim World.
Islamic Education Series



The Islamic Education Series is a set of three key textbooks commissioned by the Islamic Academy (Cambridge, UK) and published by Hodder and Stoughton and King Abdulaziz University. The series contains some classic texts on issues related to Muslim education in the contemporary world. The first book in the series (Crisis in Muslim Education) has a chapter on language issues in the Muslim world.
Issues in Islamic Education
 



Issues in Islamic education presents the thoughts and ideas of several Muslim educationists on a variety of issues. It brings together the writings of a variety of Muslim educationists. Although the book is currently out of print most of the articles can be located and downloaded in pdf format at http://www.muslim-ed-trust.org.uk/resources.html

The Journal of Language, Identity, and Education

 


The Journal of Language, Identity, and Education is a quarterly journal devoted to innovative and rigorous research and critical scholarship that helps define and advance inquiry concerned with intersecting issues related to language, identity, and education. The Journal of Language, Identity, and Education has scheduled a special issue on Islam and English in post-9/11 era to appear in Volume 4, Number 2 in 2004. Sohail Karmani and Sinfree Makoni are currently editing the issue.
